EditWelcome to the IndyALT.NET Community!
We are an ALT.NET group based in Indianapolis and we will meet the third Thursday of the month with the main event beginning at 6pm. We welcome anybody and everybody who works with .NET technology, design patterns, system architecture, or anything else us geeks work with and would like to improve! Our first few meetings will vary with the location but we soon hope to find a standard location for all of our meetings.
EditMonthly Administrative Meeting
We're asking for your help! We have an open administrative meeting on Thursday, June 26 at 6pm. If you want to step up and help run the group or if you just want to come and give us your ideas without any responsibilities, come and join us - we need your help! Leaf has been kind enough to lend us a conference room for these such meetings. If you want to join us on Thursday,
please let us know, but if you don't and just show up, that's okay too. We'll be at:
Leaf Software Solutions
525 Congressional Blvd.
Suite 120
Carmel, Indiana 46032

EditWhat is ALT.NET?
According to
David Laribee, in short it signifies:
- You’re the type of developer who uses what works while keeping an eye out for a better way.
- You reach outside the mainstream to adopt the best of any community: Open Source, Agile, Java, Ruby, etc.
- You’re not content with the status quo. Things can always be better expressed, more elegant and simple, more mutable, higher quality, etc.
- You know tools are great, but they only take you so far. It’s the principles and knowledge that really matter. The best tools are those that embed the knowledge and encourage the principles (e.g. Resharper.)
What are our goals?
