EditWelcome to the IndyALT.NET Community!
We are an ALT.NET group based in Indianapolis and we will meet the third Thursday of the month with the main event beginning at 6pm. We welcome anybody and everybody who works with .NET technology, design patterns, system architecture, or anything else us geeks work with and would like to improve! Our first few meetings will vary with the location but we soon hope to find a standard location for all of our meetings.

EditWhat is ALT.NET?
According to
David Laribee, in short it signifies:
- You’re the type of developer who uses what works while keeping an eye out for a better way.
- You reach outside the mainstream to adopt the best of any community: Open Source, Agile, Java, Ruby, etc.
- You’re not content with the status quo. Things can always be better expressed, more elegant and simple, more mutable, higher quality, etc.
- You know tools are great, but they only take you so far. It’s the principles and knowledge that really matter. The best tools are those that embed the knowledge and encourage the principles (e.g. Resharper.)
Shane Milton explains that "The concept of ALT.NET means that you try to use all tools and techniques available in an appropriate way to do your job in the best and most efficient way possible."
What are our goals?
